Some of you may be thinking this guy sure is full of himself...but it’s not like that at all. At this stage in my life, my confidence has given me an opportunity to not only start a business but is something I live and breathe. Having confidence in myself has allowed me to pursue my purpose in life.

After working at Lifetime Fitness in one of the richest counties in the country, sports performance companies we’re on every block and travel teams and youth organizations were taking advantage and competing at high levels. At that point I realized my own community was lacking this need of youth athletic development. Many of our top athletes were traveling over the mountain seeking professional athletic development training to give them a competitive advantage. At that time our community lacked sports performance training and I was ready to provide the service. Bringing a sports performance program to Winchester would give our kids and surrounding areas the same opportunity as the kids in Northern Virginia. Through my great network of friends, family, motivation, and consistency, in 2012, I was able to start FASST (Frisby’s Agility, Speed and Strength Training). My goal was to provide a service that helps people of all ages improve their lifestyle and health by our fitness and performance programs. This unique gift is what I use to inspire and build confidence in the athletes we train.

Most people aren’t lucky enough to find a passion and make a business out of it, I truly love what I do each and every day. Over the past 7 years, I have worked with many youth athletes seeking help to improve in their sport. Whether it’s making a middle school basketball team, getting a college scholarship, or prepping for an NFL tryout our program can accommodate and address any of our athlete’s needs. Not everyone has the same opportunities to pursue their life’s passion. Many of us go through life each day without ever knowing or realizing our purpose on this earth. Finding your purpose in life is more than just the day to day routines people do. You have to figure out what you have to offer to the world and make it happen! I'm not saying that I knew what my passion was from day one, it took me a while, but I’ve chased it ever since. I found something I could give my community. I work hard everyday to make FASST what it is today and to continue to evolve it within this industry.

The phrase “I don’t need motivation, I am motivation,” I came up with because I was my motivation. I knew I had something more to offer and I didn’t depend on anyone else for it. Motivation is not only an important life skill, it is a quality that makes you different from your competition. Every person on this earth is unique and has a different purpose. Your level of motivation does nothing but help you get closer to your dreams. To live with purpose, you have to be motivated to work towards your goals which helps your dreams become a reality.

Motivation is a characteristic that is frequently based off of emotion. Anything that is emotion-based can lead to inconsistency and failure, simply because of how quick emotions can change. So I want to make it clear that my motivation is self-motivated. I have the ability to be disciplined to do what needs to be done, without the influence of others. Self-motivated people can find a reason and strength to complete a task and push through even when it’s challenging. I am able to look to myself for encouragement and to stay motivated. This gift alone allows me to do what I love everyday. My job does not feel like a job to me, because it is my passion and my purpose in life. It has not been easy, but it has been worth it.

The great Tony Robbins once said that “People are not lazy, they just haven’t found the right goal to motivate them.”

Thank you,
